Well, that’s the gist, anyway. The Albuquerque Tribune is all up in the house:
Gov. Bill Richardson’s latest mission to North Korea is likely to enhance his appeal if he runs for president in 2008, the Democratic Party chairman in the critical primary state of New Hampshire says.
Kathleen Sullivan, a lawyer in Manchester, N.H., said President Bush’s mishandling of the conflict in Iraq “shows how critically important it is to have people who are knowledgeable about international affairs.”
Got that right! (Hat tip: campaignreview) Is it just me, or is Gov. Richardson quickly becoming “that guy?” Let’s look at the things he’s done recently to get in the news:
1. Fought nuclear weapons
2. Secured America’s border
3. Cut taxes
4. Better mileage
This is an important story if for no other reason than it can’t be bad to impress the chairman of the New Hampshire Democratic party. New Hampshire is all about retail politics, and state party chairs can be incredibly helpful in that. He seems to have really charmed Sullivan, so, cool.
